The Prince's salon, held week after last went off without a hitch. Tiki Tom's was happy to host as usual. Turns out the Primogen unanimously support a strong no-powers Elysium with occasional exception of the Prince, Seneschal, Sheriff and Deputies, Keeper and Hosts, and Scourge (should it ever come up). In response I've offered to hire a couple more Hosts to keep an eye on things. They'll be authorized to use minor abilities should the need arise to quell hot blooded Kindred and verify any concern of a breach, or take care of troublemakers and of course defend the Elysium.
That said several things will be going on in the background of the lovely presentation y'all have heard about by now that I'm hosting on behalf of Maggie the Tori Primogen at her new Theatre. Firstly I'm gonna take comments from folks as to their feelings on whether my temporary host has been doing a good job or not. If the consensus is that Mouse of a Monkey has been doing well, I'll make it official. Second, I'm looking for two additional Hosts to rotate in and keep the Keeper's laws and keep an eye out for trouble. Those good with Auspex are desired. Come see me anytime this weekend. Primogen and court, feel free to recommend folks for the job you feel would do well also.
Hey folks, just a note, every Keeper ever since the history of Prestation in our grand olde Cam ever has had the ability to strip standing for breaching Elysium, because of the powers vested in us by the court of the Prince. Ain't no debate about it, and it ain't the same as two kindred havin' a row about who said what rude thing. It's a power Keepers just get, and it's one they've always had. The more you know. It's for that reason the Harpy doesn't have Intellectual anymore. As Keeper I found that she wasn't usin' her noggin' when she targeted a Kindred inside of the Elysium with the powers of the blood, Summoning him outside onto Pioneer Square, which as you mighta noticed is often lousy with mortals. She admitted it too! If she wants the standing back or something like it, she should impress someone in the Court or her Primogen with a new deed on behalf of the Domain. Keepers don't grant standing, we just strip it, and it's done been stripped regardless of how loud she howls and to whom.
The Brujah Harpy's defense is that she was tryin' to stop a frenzy in my Elysium. My response to that as Keeper is two fold. One, it ain't her job to do that, it's mine and my Hosts, both of whom were standing right there to spite her erroneous report. Tryin' to grab for the Keeper's power under the nose of the feller that's standin' there watchin' isn't the best plan, especially when you end up breeching the Elysium worse than the imaginary Frenzy that never happened. Had she not jumped the gun, I'da just calmed the feller usin' a power that is common to any Malkavian neonate, or, you know, common sense. Had there been an actual Frenzy, Summoning someone wouldn't have stopped it - it'd just have moved the Frenzy out into the street to take a dump on the First Tradition, you know, like what happened when she Potence-kicked a dumpster outside my place a few months back while she was frenzying. Lordy give me patience and strong whiskey.
Look, it's pretty simple; If y'all want it to be ok for any old Kindred to be free and clear to Summon you out of Elysium, by all means, back her in this status game, but I wouldn't if I were you, because I figure that's not what most Kindred think of as a safe place. Of course there was that whole Salon called by the Prince himself to settle the issue already, but the Harpy wasn't there so I guess it doesn't exist in her mind. I guess she was out fighting Red Listers like you'd expect of a Brujah... just not what I'd expect of a Harpy. At the end of the day, I'm a member of the Prince's court, so if she wants a change in my standing over how I do my job, she can petition my boss the Prince just like any other lick - but she seems to think that ain't how it works. I guess she's got a funny idea about everybody's job, even hers. Like that boon that she mistook bein' paid to keep her actions quiet, but was really paid for someone else. She does know how boons work, right?
Right.
Anyway, all Saints Day - Magdalena "Maggie" Pralik, would like to extend an invitation to the opening of The Black Rose Theater to a private event held only for kindred (and I'm guessing ghouls too). She's presenting an epitaph made for those that died that made such an impact on this city recently. There will be entertainment throughout the evening, I imagine singin' and what-not. This is our Elysium for the evenin', please treat it with the same respect as any other Elysium, plus a little more class if you can spare it for the lady. Toms's closed for the evening, as it's good to mix it up a little anyway. See you at the Theatre show!
