Cruising

She relaxed into the drivers seat as the lights of the big city shined over them.

"Okay guys, where to tonight?"

[AST Tai]

Scrappy leaned forward from the back, her horns lightly scrapping the ceiling. "How about the Space Needle? I keep hearing about it, yet it's usually too busy... Oh and I hear there's a fountain we could run in...." The towel around her neck dripping down the seat Scrappy was leaning on.

[Nate]

Ugh, the space needle? Horrible tourist trap. Good for spanging, but we should be going after bigger bucks. I smell prey who think they are predators, two-legs feeding off of the weak and downtrodden. We need to head to older places, places of power, places of corruption. Leeches, Will-Workers, Fallen Garou, Banes, even Mortals who poison their brothers and sisters must fall so the lowest can rise again. And rise we shall, once the drains clot over with the filth spewed by those in the glass and steel towers. We will creep up slowly, as unstoppable as the tide, and drag those lofty bastards down to where we were. I smell weakness beneath their power, a hollow strength that cannot sustain itself. I hear the lamentation of our people, cold and dying on the streets, and want to carve a path for them back to the American Dream. I want to continue my war on the uncaring, started and cut short not that long ago. I want my voice back, long enough to break it again in a howl to echo to every crevice of this city. You all know what I'm good at, I can track down a fallen angel to the deepest pit of hell, I can find every bolt hole and safe haven those high-and-mighties think they have. Evil thrives where good people look away, and it's about time we showed how good we are at rooting out evil. Even if no one turns their gaze on the decay, we can still burn it away.

She snorted.

"Jabber Jaw, If it's that iconic, then there are going to be evil people gathered there. It won't harm anything to go check it out."

[Nate]

Kay. But if anybody calls me a puppy, imma bite em.

[AST Tai]

"I think that's fair. But umm, seattle's progressive right? Think I can pass these off as implants?" she asked pointing to her horns.

"Maybe? I'm down to try it, and people shouldn't be that surprised by them. We might get a lot of questions."

[Nate]

Here's an odd idea. Is it possible to hunt down an echo? Can there be enough emotion, whether it be hate or fear, behind the sound to ripple across time? Are there places in the city where a voice can become trapped? I've hunted a great many things, I've run prey into the ground over and over again. We've fought spirits and flesh, monsters and men, but have we ever hunted down something as ethereal as the dying sound of a voice? Can we swing by New York again for a quick detour? And failing that, I wonder if I can start collecting the death rattles of our prey. Wouldn't that be an interesting use of a dead-man's tongue, or throat, whatever. I'm no good at these things. Imma go find a trail.
