There was a sudden sound of thunder, has hands clapped in front of his face. The sound was tremendous and deafining. It sent his sensitive ears ringing, and eyes lost focus. It was nearly strong enough of a sound and impact, to knock him out, outright.
Eyes slowly opened, and focused... first on his hands, held palms up towards his face.
~Are you sure you are doing the righ thing, Simon? Such a dangerous road you now travel. From the throws of being a filthy shovelhead, to roaming the earth, to settling in Cairo, now here? To Seattle? The place is where kindred come to die. Why in the Gods names did you come here, of all places? Look at you. Look at what you are becoming. All you ever wanted to do, is read and learn. Nothing, in that, says you have to prepare for wars not your own. It doesnt say that you need to pick up the banner and try to make deals that will likely be your undoing. The short path to power, is the path certaint of death, Simon.
Is that what you want? You arent like your brother. He was suicidal. You are better than that. Smarter than that. And yet, here you are... making deals with beings of power you cant hope to comprehend fully. Book smarks only get you so far. This is a situation, with individuals, in a way... that only has one certain outcome. Is that what you want? What you actually want?
Sure, if something doesnt happen to change the way things are, there will be nothing worth living for if you even manage to hide away deep enough to escape the incoming horrors, but really.... do you think that YOU can actually make a difference? Are you that strong? No... not even with these things you learn. These powers you horde. These magics you study. You are woefullly incorrect if you think even for a second, you stand a chance.~
Simon moved over towards the car, leaving his sister behind with the most minimal of conversations in regards to such. The elder wanted a chew toy, so fuck it... let it have some fun. Maybe that would settle Karma down, as well.
Door opened, passenger side climbed into. He pulled out his phone, and started taking selfies of the runes that lay all over his form. Had to make sure that they were not lost in the transition, afterall. Once done, phone tucked away, a curved fanglike looking dagger removed. He pulled the blade up to eye level, peering as his own reptilian eyes in the reflection off the silver surface.
~ You shouldn't be here. You shouldn't be doing this. All that is going to happen, is you are going to get drunk on this strength, and mismeasure your own capabilities. Trust me on this, Simon. You will grow strong, and you will still fail. You wont make a spit of difference. Stick to what you know. Dont tread on unknown territory, and if you do... EASE into it! This deep throat approach is not healthy. It is not safe. This... will be your end.~
His hand gripped the handle of the blade a bit tighter. As he did, he fould feel the power of a serpent flow around his arm, and down into the blade itself. His minds eye felt the snake descend into the blade, bearing fangs as it sank into. He could feel power flow throw the object, and in return, into himself.
His eyes lifted, staring off out the window and into the dead of the night, with the sounds of female moans tilling the nighttime air.
A slow smirk slipped across his lips, as blade was tucked away back from where it came.
Eyes slowly opened, and focused... first on his hands, held palms up towards his face.
