Makeup (for thugs)

Hey y'all

I have lots of stage makeup experience, but I never could get "tattoos" done right. I use my eyeliner, but that smudges easy (okay for scars, not okay for tats) and it wipes out my tip.

Any suggestions?

"Marker" style eyeliners, they are a little more expensive but last. The good ones I use for my make up are Stila brand, located here.

I've cut up temporary tribal tattoos and re-formed them into other shapes. Works great.

I've used a black MAC Paint Pot (painted on with a brush) and set with Ben Nye Neutral Set powder in the past to great effect, but I don't know know it stands up to prolonged rubbing from clothing.

Using a makeup sealer (Ben Nye and Mehron both have excellent ones for relatively cheap) can address the smudging/removal problem.

Likewise, using actual stage-makeup style pencils (often creams) will provide what you're looking for. And, when combined with a sealer, not smear.

If you're going for arm tattoos, you can get some flesh colored leggings that are small and pant the calf portions how you want them and cut off the rest. This allows you to have consistent tattoos (just be careful not to get them dirty).
