Infertile Vitae (5pt. Flaw)
During your Embrace, something went horribly wrong causing your blood to mutate under the stress of dying and rising again. All those you try to Embrace die. No matter what you do, you may not create any childer. However, your blood can still be used in blood rituals like Thaumaturgy and the Vaulderie, or for any other vampiric needs like making ghouls.
This flaw was originally designed for Sabbat play where mass embraces and the frivolous bestowing of the Blood is king. In the Camarilla, however, it is much more difficult to get permission to give the Embrace. There is a lengthy (and costly) process to get the rights to do so. And afterwards, there is a long vetting and child-rearing process to ensure that your progeny is suitable for civilized society.
The inability to make childer is actually a crippling thing. Especially within the Camarilla where dynastic houses and lineage rule the roost, not having the ability to embrace would be debilitating to almost any elder during the course of their existence. Childer are eternal allies (or servants), after all, and capable of doing so much to further your holdings. However, we can't really play EC for 500 years to really make this flaw pop, can we?
Due to the infrequency that this flaw will come up in a Camarilla style, real-time LARP, Staff feels the point value this flaw gives is disproportionate to other flaws of similar value. Also, considering that a solid 1/4 of the sheets submitted thus far have this flaw on it, we feel this must be addressed.
Infertile Vitae will be giving 1pnt in this Larp due to infrequency and difficulty in policing the highly metagame aspects associated with this flaw.
