SEATTLE — Seattle police are asking for help solving a downtown shootout that may have led to murder on Sunday, October 18th.
26-year-old Bo-cell "Jamma" Ortega, known Jamaican 'yardie' gang member was shot and forensic scientists suspect killed and his friends wounded. Also missing are two civic Puget Area Energy engineers. Detectives say the suspects were in a 4-door Black Lincoln SUV and a Jamaican man was driving.
Now police are hoping to hear from any witnesses who saw them.
The victims are believed to have first encountered the suspects in a storage and transfer building near south Seneca Street toward 3rd Avenue.
Detectives say the suspects encountered the victims who were driving Black BMW SUV's out of the loading dock.
Gunfire erupted inside the Charter Storage building around midnight, locals said. Multiple bullets and bloodstained were recovered at the scene, indicating as many as eight individuals may have been involved in the shootout.
The driver of the BMW was believed to be wounded. Police say the missing engineers may have been his passengers. Now investigators need to know who else was in the Black Lincoln.
“Remember that this took place about midnight.” said Ret. Det. Nicole Dorval. “If you know anything about this incident [or] you just happened to see a car speed away — specifically if you have a license plate, even if you may not think it’s important, it may be critical to solving this potential multiple homicide.”
Detectives are looking for any kind of information that will help, especially if you know who was driving the Black Lincoln that night.
Even if you don’t think you saw anything, you might have a crucial piece to the puzzle, call the homicide unit at 206-555-5000 or call an anonymous tip into:
