The shadows of the tall buildings created dark canyons as the sun began to dip past the horizon. The streets are teeming with biomass preparing for their night life.
Carlo smiled to himself as he watched the throngs of masses flit about like small ants from the comfort of his offices in the Smith Tower.
It always interested him how the modern human being delt with their pain. Some would use their pain as an excuse to revel. Some used it for good. Some for evil. But even if they used all of their pain up, they would do such things as: fight, war, plot, gossip, backstab, and murder each other. All to create more pain to feed their hobbies.
So predictable.
During his time, there was such a thing as responsibility towards the community. Sure there was still war and murder, but it was all used to furthur something. If a country wanted another countries resources, they would up and take it, and if the other country had any balls, they would fight to keep it. Murder was less common as war, because the people looked out for each other. If someone started to act weird, their neighbors would watch closely, and report any strange things to their neighbors, and they to their neighbors, and so on. So by the time someone got the balls to actually up and kill someone they didn't like, the whole neighborhood would know that Roberto down the street was probably the one who did it. True this wasn't always accurate, but then again who's to say nuclear determent really is a good reason to continue to build bombs capable of wiping out entire small countries.
This race has really gone over the deep end. At least the Giovanni had their shit together. They watched out for each other, and they even kept an eye the some people's backs who didn't ask for it. Just to make sure.
And all this shit about a few bullshit graffiti pieces. Granted, really well done bullshit graffiti pieces. But a fuckin trial? That has to be the biggest pot of bullshit of them all. In a society of creatures where the laws of physics are pretty much moot, why would a trial based on one of the biggest cosmic goofups, mankind that is, have any meaning to them. But then again, little Carlo "the ghoul" is just a scholar and isn't really expected to understand these things...
Whatever.
