Henrietta sat in her chair, staring out upon her Elysium. It was empty now, everyone having gone to do their personal business before sunrise, and it felt good to just sit and reflect. It had been an eventful night.
The meeting with His Highness had been quite a surprise. She had had thoughts about what she would be talking with him about when Lady Daniels had given her the call to tell her about the meeting, and she had been far from correct. Even when Issac had brought up the fact that Victor had stepped down, she still hadn't realized just what was happening. She had been completely surprised by it. Sherrif was the job she had been raised to, but Keeper wasn't too far off from that. Just a small Domain to look after, when you got right down to it.
Her lips curled into a smile that would have sent shivers down the spine of anyone who saw it, had anyone been around to do so. Those who knew her as the motherly Primogen would be in for a big surprise, if they hadn't seen or heard what she was capable of this evening. HNow she would be able to show her true colors, and take pride in what she had been taught. The political stuff was all well and good, but she didn't really know her way around in that world. Here, in her Elysium, she would truly shine. Hadn't she already proved it?
Henrietta rose from her chair and walked to the door. Turning one last time to look over her domain, she nodded. She could do this job, and she would do it well. Leaving a note with the ghoul at the door for the Host of this Elysium, she strode into the night. She had much to do, and little time to do it in, if she were to make her teachers proud.
