Regan rested her head on Angus' chest as they laid in one another's arms. The night had been full of revelations and reassurances. As the sun grew close outside, Regan nuzzled against Angus in response to the gentle fingernail that absentmindedly traced patterns through her hair.
As he caressed her and leaned back, his focus pointed inward. He thought back to their conversation.
She was right. She didn't have visible marks. She didn't display any of the unique features of the clan beyond seeing in the dark. She could pass as a Malkavian.
He stopped. His role wasn't to follow those same lines of questions. His role was the rock. The anchor. He knew what he had to do. His place was clear. He wouldn't lose her.
Angus leaned his head down and kissed his love on the forehead as the sun rose outside. He focused in further.
I love you. And I will do what I must for you.
Madness was a dangerous thing to dance near. But he had some experience. He knew full well that love had already driven him a little mad.
