From Kevin’s perspective (there was more that Jerris experienced but my character didn't know anything about it):
“Hey, wanna do something fun?,” Jerris started
A few minutes of talking with Jerris and Kevin was ready to try a journey…
In one swift moment the voiced had stopped. When one has grown so accustomed to the frequent screaming and occasional cries, the silence is too loud to bear.
One moment sitting locked and comfortable in his office with Jerris and the next minute came nothingness. Is this the void his sire warned him about? Is this the oblivion that all too easily consumes the followers of Malcov?
Kevin says out loud, “What the hell did you get me into you crazy bastard?”
The echoes start out as whispers to low to comprehend . The moment you concentrate the whispers become deafening screams. As you fear your head will explode, the screams again become whispers and die out. The words fly as if taunted by a swooping bird, “What… get… bastard…”
“…me,” the void replied
A few min of incomprehensible fragments of understanding, Kevin concentrated and began to speak to Jerris.
“If I come out of this worse for ware I swear Jerris I’m gunna be pissed off.”
Kevin pokes at Jerris. He cannot see him but he knows he’s there; he can feel his presence.
“…leave,” again from the void.
“Sc-uh-rew this. I’m leaving. I just know something bad is gunna happen if I stay here.” Kevin’s words begin to fade from the emptiness.
The room begins to fade in. The light starts from a dot the size of a pin and quickly expands. The onset of unified body and mind jerks Kevin into full consciousness as if asleep and then scared awake.
Kevin looks at the clock on the wall. With a dumbfounded and utterly confused look on his face he glances at the desk calendar…
“JERRIS!”
